Uh-oh. Politics. As the presidential election draws near, I have noticed an extreme abundance of political bumper stickers. Normal, sure. It's free advertisement. Well, I have also noticed the absurdity of some of these bumper stickers. Specifically the ones I saw today. Both on the same car, of course. The first one said "Imagine No Liberians". Um... ok... *imagining*... yeah, that's just dumb. Then the other gem of a bumper sticker said, "Give War A Chance". Give war a chance? Haven't we been doing just that for a couple years? So we gave it a chance... next plan. How about "Give My Foot Up Your Ass A Chance". How's that for a bumper sticker? People piss me off. And you know what is really starting to piss me off? All these "abortion is murder" people. There was a group of people standing out along the road at a major shopping plaza in my area a few weeks ago with signs that said "Abortion Kills Children". Well, in my opinion, so does that dumbshit president that they want to re-elect... only difference is that he waits until the children are at least 18 years of age. I don't care how old someone is, they are still someone's child and sending them off to die is murder... just like he says abortion is. All the religious crazies want Bush back in office because he's against gay marriage and abortion... what happened to thou shalt not kill?! Actually, I think I've posted about this before... the thou shalt not kill thing anyway. I remember because I couldn't figure out if it should be "shalt" or "shall". Oh well, it's my site and I'll recycle my bitching if I want to. Anyway, I just can't wait for this whole thing to be over with. Only a couple days and (hopefully) we're done with Bush. I'm kind of curious to see how he will react if he doesn't get re-elected. I imagine a bunch of floor flopping, feet kicking and fist pounding. Then re-count demands or something like that. I think the whole thing that sucks about this is that the whole world is dividing. I mean, the world was already divided, but there are people who hate other people strictly because of their political preferences. And not just in the "what the hell are they thinking?" kind of way. There are people who would kill other people just to raise the chances that their choice president gets the job. That's all it is. A JOB. Doesn't anyone see that? They're in politics, so you just can't believe everything they say. Promises mean nothing... that's a depressing thought. You have someone lying to you to get you to put them in the position to control your life for the next four years... yet that power would mean nothing without you. Every single one of us counts yet... some of these guys just think "I'm president now, so I get to control the world!". Wow. It's really hard to describe what I'm feeling right now. I just had one of those moments that I saw everything from a different perspective... What gives anyone the right to control my life? Who the fuck is this George guy that I never even heard of (until Daddy was president) and why should he get to decide how I - or anyone for that matter - live? Ok, at the risk of sounding like an anarchist... why should one guy who I never even met make one single decision for me? Why do we need a government to decide anything? We are humans, we have minds. Use them for something other than trying to control other people. If you're against something... just don't fucking do it! Don't try to tell me that I can't just because you don't want to. Let me talk about my views on abortion. If you want to have an abortion, you go right ahead because I don't know you and I don't know the circumstances of your pregnancy. I would not have an abortion, but you should have the choice because you are not me. Now my view on gay marriage. Who you fall in love with should not be the deciding factor whether you get to be happy or not. If someone has a sex change, then gets married, does that make it ok? Or what if two straight people get married then one has the operation and the other person still loves them because of who they are, not what they look like? Does the marriage license get revoked because it appears to be a gay marriage? And now my view of Bush. Fighting terrorism my ass. If he spent more time "fighting terrorism" and less time being so fucking hysterical about anti-gay this and anti-women's rights that, this war shit might have been done with by now. Oh and by the way, Osama who? Funny how they're always on the verge of finding him. For two fucking years they've been on the verge of catching him. On the verge of what? A big steaming pile of bullshit? That's what it sounds like to me. That's what everything sounds like to me. This post started out as some little bumper sticker rant and it's turned into some big fuck the system spiel. Oh well. If you don't like my opinions, hate me if you want to... at least you're still allowed that particular satisfaction. And I'm still allowed the satisfaction of saying, "If you don't like it, you can kiss my ass."
