Enjoy the silence
Oooh, I can't take it anymore! My daughter, although wonderful, has the most annoying habit of repeating herself over and over and over, usually even after you reply. If you don't reply immediately, she will repeat immediately. As in, "What are you doing, what are you doing?" No pause. I know this is kind of a kid thing, but still... Anyway, every morning, 11:00am is teeth brushing time. She brushes then comes downstairs and asks, "How many minutes until we go out to wait for the bus?" So I tell her (usually about 13 minutes). Then she proceeds to ask "How many minutes?", every 30 seconds, for the next 8 minutes or so, then counts down on her own, reminding me every 10 seconds that there's only 5 minutes, only 5 minutes, only 5 minutes OOH! only 4 minutes... you get the idea. We make it outside and the "When's the bus gonna be here? When's the bus gonna be here?" starts. At least there's a little variety in that. It's more like, "When's the bus gonna be here? I wish the bus would get here. Why does it take so long for the bus to get here? (it's a 3 minute wait, for pete's sake!) Why's it so cold? When's the bus gonna be here?" I love the kid, but if I have to answer the same question one more time... I am going to lose it. God bless the kindergarten teachers of the world.
