The beginning of this post has nothing to do with the end...

You know, I was just thinking... t.v. pisses me off. I knew there was a reason that I didn't really like to watch it. First, the news. I hate the news. Since when did the season's worst gifts and the newest diet become "news"? Everyone knows a bad gift when they see one (except, of course, the people that actually give them) and if you want to know about the newest and most improved diet, just watch commercials! Trust me, they'll advertise. The other thing that pisses me off is the commercials. They get more stupid every day. I especially hate when hospitals advertise. Is that really necessary? Do they really think that, in the event of an emergency, the injured person will be thinking about their commercial and how caring they said they are? No, they'll be thinking about the closest hospital that can re-attatch their hand.

Ok I admit, in my hometown, there were 2 hospitals that were almost equal distances away, but I chose to go to the one that was about 5 minutes farther if I could. The closer one was the worst hospital EVER. One time I took an ambulance to the closer one and ended up sitting in the waiting room for 2 and a half hours, then waiting in the exam room for another 2 hours before seeing a doctor. Hello? I came in an ambulance. On top of all the waiting, about 20 minutes after I got into the exam room, this dumb broad of a nurse came in and asked if they could "borrow the (rolling) bed"... and "don't worry, we'll bring it back". Are you kidding?! Apparently not. Alright, I was only severely dehydrated (to the point of passing out a couple times), I didn't need to lie down. And she really did bring it back, but still. How stupid! One good point though, the stud-muffin ambulance driver did come talk to me in the waiting room when he brought another patient in. Bonus!

Apparently in the past few years, that hospital has gotten so bad that some major insurance companies will not even pay if you go there. Just the other day my friend was telling me about this 45 year old guy that just came into the nursing home her mom works at from that hospital. He went in to have some minor-ish surgery (ulcer removed or something) and left a vegetable because his O.R. doctor didn't check his chart and pumped him full of something he was severely allergic to. Anyway, I decided to go to the other hospital if I ever needed to go (I went once) and only waited about 10 minutes in the waiting room and was there a total of 2 hours. It was much better.

Then when I moved out here, I was putting dishes in the dishwasher and one of the glass baking dished just snapped in my hand and cut my fingers all to shit. I waited about an hour before I decided to go to the hospital and when I got there I went directly into an exam room and saw the nurse within 10 minutes and the doctor about 10 minutes after that. We were there and back in about an hour and a half. Oddly enough, the hospital that I went to for my fingers is the one that set me off about hospital advertising.

Why don't my posts ever end on the same topic as they start off with? T.V., I.V. ... same thing?
