I am the Answer Lady Apparently I must have that "informed and approachable" look about me because recently I've had more strangers ask me things that someone else should be answering than ever. I didn't really think about it at the kindergarten registration office when two separate people asked me questions that probably should have been answered by the people getting paid to answer the questions. Maybe they just thought that since I was the youngest mother in the room I might remember my own kindergarten registration and would be able to give them a better answer than the old ladies. Who knows. But then today when I was at Target, some girl came up to me and asked me if I could direct her towards the make-up aisle. First of all, I was wearing a purple tank top and jeans, not the standard red shirt/tan pants that make up the Target uniform. Second, I doubt that many Target employees attend their shift with their mother and daughter in tow. That would just be uncomfortable. So anyway, after the girl walked away I got TOTALLY paranoid. I was all "What did she mean by that? Do I need make up and that was supposed to be a hint? Am I wearing too much make up so I would OBVIOUSLY know where it is? What the hell is her problem?! ACK!" For the record, I wasn't wearing any make up AND had on my nerdaliscious glasses, so you can bet I was looking mighty hot. Good thing she seemed like she actually wanted to know or I would REALLY be paranoid.
