.:REALLY long post about John Kerry:. So I've been doing some research on John Kerry. And I have come to the conclusion that I will definately be voting for him. Aside from the fact that I'm all for Anyone But Bush, I actually think this guy might have a damn good clue as to what America is supposed to be about. First (and most importantly to me), this guy actually seems to like women and not just see them as a tool to reproduce more close-minded hypocrites. "John Kerry believes that women have the right to control their own bodies, their own lives, and their own destinies." My goodness, can you imagine? Women having the right to make up their own little ole minds? MORE Second, "John Kerry supports same-sex civil unions so that gay couples can benefit from the health benefits, inheritance rights, or Social Security survivor benefits guaranteed for heterosexual couples." What? You mean the Americans, that just happen to be homosexual, who pay the same taxes and deserves the same rights as heterosexuals will actually get some respect? Why, that's just crazy talk! MORE Third, "Many politicians have a prescription drug plan to benefit pharmaceutical companies not seniors. John Kerry supports a real meaningful affordable drug benefit that: ~Doesn’t force seniors into HMOs ~Is run by Medicare – not private insurance companies who can charge seniors whatever they want ~Doesn’t undermine drug coverage that seniors have today ~A real benefit available to every senior that helps those with average costs and those with the highest drug costs" So, he's going to let senior citizens get quality medicine at affordable prices? Wow, and for the past 4 years I thought they were too old to count as part of the American people who deserve medical attention. Imagine. MORE Fourth, "We will fight to repeal the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans so that we can invest in education and health care. We will also protect middle class tax cuts, such as the child credit and the elimination of the marriage penalty and propose additional tax credits to help middle class families make ends meet." Do I even have to comment on this one? Really. Who came up with the idea of Oh, you're rich so you don't have to pay as much in taxes because... well, that's fair, right? MORE Fifth, "Kerry will also put forward a plan to make the U.S. energy independent of Middle East oil in ten years—and create 500,000 jobs by investing in energy renewable sources, such as ethanol, solar, and wind." Whoa, have America depend on ourselves to prvide for ourselves? What a notion. MORE Ok, so that's really only the tip of that this guy wants to do and I, for one, am all for it. I want John Kerry in office and dammit, I'm gonna help put him there! For more Kerry info go to www.johnkerry.com More John Kerry Sites John Kerry Blog Women For Kerry DOTWHO
