.:haunted:. I've been thinking about ghosts lately, mostly, I think, because of a local news channel doing a documentary about the Terminal Tower in Cleveland being supposedly haunted. I have read all sorts of "Haunted Ohio" books and I've heard plenty of stories but I have just never heard anything about the Terminal Tower. So then I got to thinking about all the ghost stories friends have told me (I even have one of my own) and started looking up "haunted" places in Ohio. One that caught my eye was one in the Bowling Green area on Holcomb Rd. the story is that a bunch of kids where on a Catholic field trip and the driver lost control and every one disappeared and they say at night if you shut off your car some one will push it and no one will be there also at night this white thing goes past and there are red eyes far into the woods and in the day time you can see people made out of sticks hanging out from the tree and there is cloths scattered every where and dead cats in the ditches and writing in the stones Yeah, um... (aside from the numerous grammatical errors) Blair Witch what? Anyway so here are some more stories that I know for a fact really happened because they happened to people I know... starting with mine. **I used to work at a country club in Sandusky, OH and there were rumors (as there will be in almost any building over 50 years old) about a certain ghost hanging around. Well, people had their little "run ins" or whatever but I was skeptical. I do believe in ghosts but I need evidence to believe there really is one at the place in question. Well, I never saw anything from this one, but while I worked there one of the older employees died (at home). Of course there were jokes about him coming back to the club and if something was misplaced, it was the ghosts who moved it. Well, one day there was a group of us in the kitchen (where most of the activity supposedly took place) and there was this little bottle of tobasco sitting on the cutting table. All of a sudden it was sliding across the cutting table and fell to the floor. We all stared at if for a second then laughed it off, saying hello to the ghost and whatever. The weird thing is, the man that died while I worked there put tobasco on everything. Then later in the evening after I left a bunch of plates went flying off a shelf. This happened to someone who did NOT believe in ghosts until, of course, that happened. Then there was the time my friend and I went to visit another friend in Akron, OH. He had been telling me about weird things that had happened in the house, locked doors coming unlocked, people feeling "pushing", hand print appearing. Well, when we were out there, he took us down to the basement. The way the stairs are set up is they go down about 5 steps the there's a little platform where you turn and go down about 10 more steps. Well, the first 5 steps were no problem, but when my friend and I got to the platform, we both just stopped. There was such a bad feeling that neither of us wanted to go all the way down. Of course my friend that lived there was already at the bottom of the second set of steps trying to get us to come all the way down. We were really reluctant, but did. I have never felt anything like that before. The whole way down to the bottom there was a very strong black feeling. But once you got to the bottom it went away completely. I'm glad he moved out of there!** There's been a couple weird things happen to my friend who also worked at the club. These ones I'm telling from memory and a couple details might be a little off, but it all equals out to be the same... **One night she was at work and she called me and asked if I had just called her on her cell phone. I didn't. She had just changed her cell phone providers that day or the day before and hadn't given anyone but me the number yet. According to her caller ID she had received a call from the club (the caller didn't say anything). She was hoping I had called and the caller ID was wrong. We think it was the same ghost that played with the tobasco. Then the other night she was alone in the club locking up and heard music. She thought that maybe the kitchen left their radio on. She went to the office and called a manager to come in. She got there and heard it too. They soon realized that the radio was never on. This same manager had a problem with the music before. She was in the ballroom and all was silent. She then left the ballroom and heard music. She went back into the ballroom and turned it off, hoping she just hadn't noticed it before. She left the room again and it came back on. I don't know how long this went on but she eventually got the music turned off and the hell out of there.** And here's a couple from a friend who has had problems with ghosts since 7th grade (she's now 25). **I don't know what anybody's heard about leaving an Ouija board uncovered overnight, but it's my impression that you're just not supposed to. Well, this friend was playing with it, forgot about it, woke up the next day and realized what she had done. For the next 2 weeks there was a shadow of a little boy on her bedroom (where she left the board out) wall. Years went by and she forgot about it. One day, her grandmother had a friend (who happened to be "psychic") over and my friend was talking to her. The lady said that she felt a presence around her of a little boy. Her grandmother asked her if she was pregnant (she wasn't) and the lady said, "no, he's not a relative" and something along the lines of him being a ghost. She said she got the feeling that he was an orphan and his name was (I can't remember if it was) Timmy or Jimmy. Well, once again, a couple years passed and my friend mostly forgot about it. Then she moved to Florida. By this time she was expecting her first child. She started experienced cold spots in her room or on the stairs and some sort of resistance of pressure (like pushing). After she had her son, weird things really started happening. At night, she would put the brand new baby in her bed with her with 4 pillows around him at his head, feet and sides. One night she woke up to him crying. He was on the floor and the pillows were exactly as she has placed them. Then a couple months later she sat him on the couch and propped a pillow under a bottle so she could go outside to smoke a cigarette. No sooner did she get outside that she heard him crying. She went back in the house and the bottle was gone. She started looking all over the floor, under the couch, in the pillows, everywhere. It was nowhere to be found. So later she went into his room for something and there was the bottle, sitting up right in the crib. She and the baby were the only ones home the whole time. After her son had gotten old enough to sleep through the night, she decided it was time for a night out. She was staying with her mom at this time so her mom had a friend over to keep her and the baby company while my friend went out. It was decided that her mom's friend would sleep in her mom's bed and her mom would sleep in my friend's bed. Everything went just fine until the next day when my friend's mom told her about the weird dream she had while sleeping in her bed. She said that she had a dream she was sleeping in the street and someone was hitting her in the back trying to wake her up. She said she could actually feel him hitting her. Well, she looked up and it was a little a little boy who looked like an orphan or homeless kid. He told her to get out of the street or she would die. She asked him his name and he said "Timmy". Weird thing is, my friend never told her mom about what her grandmother's friend had said.** And the last one is from my cousin. This one actually happened to her friend, but my cousin knew about it the whole time it was going on. **My cousin's friend had a Ouija board from Salem. She spent alot of time talking to spirits and whatnot but there was one in particular that she spoke with the most. It always told her that he loved her and stuff like that. This went on for a long time. Then one night my cousin's friend was in a really bad accident. When she got out of the hospital she went home and tried to talk to her spirit friend. He wouldn't speak to her at all. For days she tried to get him to talk and he wouldn't. Finally she asked him why he wouldn't talk to her and he said he was mad at her. When she asked him why he said, "Because you didn't die". She immediately got rid of that board and hasn't touched one since.** Haunted Links Boot Hill Cemetery Haunted America The Shadow Lands Prairie Ghosts Dead Ohio Spirit Seekers Share 'em if you got 'em!
